Conflict Resolution

The death of Marissa Cooper in Season 3 of The O.C.

Describe the characters in the conflict (gender, name, race, job, age, role).
The characters involved in this conflict were two males, Ryan Atwood and Kevin Volchok, and one female, Marissa Cooper. All three characters are caucasian and roughly around the age of 19. Kevin Volchok is held responsible for the death of Marissa because he wanted to speak to her but she didn't want any contact with him after what they had been through and the bad things that he had gotten her involved in. Ryan wouldn't allow him to speak to her, so they continued on their drive to the airport, where Marissa was to board a plane and leave to go and work with her father. But along the way, Volchok meets up with them, running them off the road. This causes Ryan to flip his vehicle over a hill, therefore killing Marissa.

How was the conflict resolved (solved and finished)?
The conflict was never fully resolved, Ryan still has a burning hatred for Volchok.

How often was violence used to resolve the conflict?

Violence was the main factor that caused this conflict to NOT be resolved. If it hadn't of been for Volchok violently rampaging Ryan and Marissa in their vehicle, she still would have been alive and the hatred for Volchok inside of Ryan would have vanished if he could have left Marissa alone like he was asked.

What types of characters were most often portrayed using violence?
The character that portrayed this violence was Kevin Volchok, played by Cam Gigandet.
